Circ Update 6/11/24

 Check-in Reminder

·        As we come into the busy summer season, please be careful when checking-in returns.

·        Jenna, our Director, recently received an email from an upset patron who returned an item that wasn’t checked-in properly and was found on the shelf.

·        If you’re not watching the screen when checking-in it’s easy to miss special pop-up messages, and subsequent items don’t get checked-in.

CCLS Required Con-Ed – Cyber Security for 2024

·       The training modules have launched on the KnowBe4 platform.

·        This is the same platform used for the Sexual Harassment module and you will need to use the same login/password to access your KnowBe4 account.

·        There will be more than one round of modules released during the year, with deadlines for completion posted as each module is released.

·        Please read the email from Tony Wagner sent on Wednesday, June 5, for details.

Back-hall Workspace Update

·        We used the wooden bookcases in the back hall on a trial basis after the Memorial Day holiday closure.

·        We ran out of blue carts in the stacks, so since we didn’t have carts for sorting, we put after checked-in book-drop returns on the wooden shelves.

·        Though we thought we might need them for YS books, we’ll use them for whatever materials makes the most sense depending on the situation.

·        If we need to put them into play at any point going forward, one of the Full-time staff members will make the call and let everyone know.

Summer Workflow Reminders

·       Pages, please use the large 3-tier book carts for adult van returns from now through the end of summer. We will need the 2 tier carts for holds and other returns.

·       You can leave them on the balcony landing upstairs if no room to park in the back hall, just let a Full-time staff member know please.

·       Also, please remember to use both sides of bottom shelf (4 sides) when sorting if we’re low on empty small blue carts.

Damaged/Missing Pieces Info

·       Please put patron personal books on the “missing pieces/damaged items” hold shelf for pick-up, not the regular hold-shelf. Also, if you speak to the patron let them know that’s where they will be held and advise that we will only hold for 30 days.

·       When patrons return a missing piece, please don’t try to match it up, just flag with an orange slip and put in the one of the red baskets.
